I was in a car accident as a young child and the injuries showed up in my early teens. I was fortunate enough to get regular massage treatments, and it was the only thing that helped with the pain. I loved how relaxed I felt during and after my treatments, and I thought it was a really amazing way to help people. At such a young age, I knew it would be a very rewarding career!
I often have Guests come in that have never had a massage before and they are a bit apprehensive. I love making them feel comfortable and gently easing the tension in their muscles. My favorite part is the look on the Guest's face when they walk out of the room after the massage, feeling like Jell-O and wanting to book another treatment!
I love to give Guests the Mountain Elements Massage. It is such a well-rounded massage with a foot soak, a sage smudge, aromatherapy and warm stones integrated throughout the treatment. While giving the treatment, I am almost as relaxed as the Guest who is receiving it!
I have always wanted to be a massage therapist, since I was a little kid. I used to give treatments to my mother to help her with her bad back and she told me that I had healing hands, and that I should share them with the world.
My favourite part about being a massage therapist? The people. I love meeting new people. I love the looks on their faces after a treatment – that happy, relaxed look that says at that moment you are my favorite person in the world.
Myofascial type work is by far my favorite type of massage to give Guests. I really enjoy educating Guests as to what fascia is and why it is so important. Fascial work continues to amaze me, in that it can have such a profound effect and yet can be so subtle.
